Day 3: A near perfect day. Or a glorious train ride and Machu Picchu, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Breakfast in paradise: seriously, I have no idea how we lucked into this place but Jesus it’s fucking amazing!

Another selfie with our view:

After breakfast we got a ride to the train and experienced the most amazing train ride ever! Seriously, it was the cleanest train station and most luxurious train ride I have ever experienced with ceiling and side views all around.

The obligatory train selfie:

After we got off the train we walked to the bus. The bus was delayed by kids protesting to protect the environment (also, see next post–it will all be photos of these adorable children). And then the ascent to Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu: holy fucking shit–everyone should go here. It is one of the eight modern wonders of the world for a reason! We climbed over 160 flights of stairs (according to my Fitbit) and walked about 10 miles and while I was exhausted and sweaty and gross and exhausted it was one of the best days of my life ever. Seriously some of the most beautiful views I nhave ever seen.

Our lunch view:

After our initial tour with a guide we climbed up to the sun temple to see the views of Machu Picchu from above. We needed a lot of breaks along the way and came up with a multi-million dollar scheme to sell oxygen on various levels of the mountain. Seriously, I may figure this out and move down here.

The best thing about the sun temple is that it is llama central. Seriously, I kinda love llamas.

Single selfie with llama:

Holy crap this was an amazing day.

The best part about it is that when we got to the hotel we found out dinner was included and I just had the best dinner I’ve had in a while. Along with some Peruvian Cabernet. It was an almost perfect day. But now I’m totally exhausted and need to sleep.
